
HAYES, Michael L., age 68 passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 at the Miami Valley Hospital. Michael was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio to the late Frank and Ada Hayes. He was a graduate of Trotwood Madison High School and continued his education at Miami University; where he participated as a percussionist in the Miami University Band and Alumni Band. After graduation he continued his association with his fraternity, Kappa Sigma, as both an Alumni Advisor and District Grand Master. He started chapters at both Towson State University in Maryland as well as at Gallaudet University, a federally charted private university for the education of the Deaf and hard of hearing located in Washington, D.C. Michael was a United States Air Force veteran and past master of the Alpha Lodge. He was also a member of the Antioch Shrine Temple, Oriental Band, Brass Band, Troubadours, Marching Patrol, Tipp City Community Band, German Saurerkraut Band, and the Centerville Noon Optimist Club. Michael was also very passionate about coaching recreational baseball, basketball and football. He is preceded in death by his son Michael L. Hayes Jr. Michael is survived by his wife Ann Hayes, sons; Douglas(Amy)Hayes, and James(Cynthia)Hayes, grandchildren; Alex, Ian, Emily, Michael and Allison Hayes, brothers Gary, and Frank Hayes. Family will receive friends at the TOBIAS FUNARL HOME-Far Hills Chapel Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 6:00PM to 9:00PM; with 8:00PM Masonic Service.
