

Bolton, Mildred R. (Millie),age 91, of Beavercreek passed away on August 22, 2012 following a courageous battle with cancer. Millie was born July 29, 1921 on a farm outside Fort Recovery, OH to the late Charles and Elizabeth (Clune) Keller. She was married to Louis Frederick Bolton on May 3, 1953 and they enjoyed 40 wonderful years of marriage. She was preceded in death by her husband Lou, daughter Mary Lou Bolton-Hartill, sister Dorothy Engle and brothers Robert, Edward, Alvin, William and Ray Keller. She is survived by her sons Michael (Cinda) of Waynesville, OH, Gregory (Dwaine) of Washington D.C., Mark (Amy) of Louisville, KY, son-in-law Gerry Hartill of Phoenix, AZ, grandsons Tyler, Joseph and Carson Bolton, sister Mary (William) Woeste, brother Paul Keller, and sisters-in-law Rita Keller, Marilyn Bolton and Carolyn (William) Wheeler and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Millie was a charter member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Beavercreek, OH. where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, Nursing Home Visitation Volunteer, and Member of the Bereavement Committee and Leisure Club. In her forties Millie began running and helped launched a women’s running club, “The Fun Runners”. For the better part of three decades Millie competed in track and field in the National Senior Olympics winning numerous gold medals in the 400, 800 and 1,500 meter running events as well as the 1,500 meter race-walk. In 2005 she was inducted into the Ohio Senior Olympics Hall of Fame. Millie also enjoyed singing in the Kettering Senior Show Choir. She was an inspiration to all that knew her and she’ll be dearly missed. The family would like to thank the supportive staff at the Greater Dayton Cancer Center, including Dr. Kathula, his assistant Lattice, her nurse Julie, and her scheduler Jason. Millie fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith. The family will receive friends at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, August 27, 2012. Prayers will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1440 North Fairfield Road with Father Terry Schneider, celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Donations to the St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church Building Fund or the American Cancer Society are encouraged and appreciated.
