Nancy Lee Steele

Nancy Lee Steele, 79, of Beavercreek, passed away April 21, 2022 in Centerville, Ohio, surrounded by family. Nancy was born in Chillicothe, Ohio, on December 24, 1942 to her parents, Denver and Dolorus (Dunham) Hunter. She graduated from Fairmont High School in 1960, later married Thomas Blanford, and together they welcomed three sons. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and her late husband. She is survived by her three children- Michael (Michelle) Blanford, Scott (Rebecca Kronk) Blanford, and Tim (Mardell) Blanford; sister -Bonnie Vaughn; two grandchildren- Miranda (Andrey) Castel, and Ryan (Emily Landis) Blanford; three great-grandchildren- Ryder and Rylan Blanford, Elliette Castel and one due this summer. Nancy is also survived by a nephew- Donnie (Jennifer) Vaughn, and niece- Teresa Vaughn, as well as a great-niece Madysen Sutten and great-nephew Nicholas Vaughn.

Nancy was an accomplished seamstress who could alter, mend, and create just about anything your heart desired. She enjoyed cooking and traveling the world, particularly the Amalfi Coast in Italy. Over the years, Nancy loved golfing, refurbishing antiques, and spending time with her family. She was dedicated and passionate to all that she set out to do, never blinking an eye at a challenge and always putting her family first. Nancy was a strong, independent, and loving woman who will be dearly missed by those that loved her.

Funeral services will be held on May 6, 2022 at Tobias Funeral Home 3970 Dayton Xenia Rd. Beavercreek, Ohio. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 1:00 pm and services will follow at 2:30pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Nancy's life. The family also wishes to extend their gratitude to the Miami Valley Hospital South staff for their care and compassion during her final days.
