Norma Jean Herron

Herron, Norma Jean (Purcell), age 87 of Centerville, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2015 at Hospice of Dayton. Norma was born on January 30, 1928 in Bethany, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice C. Herron, Parents Mary and Ray Purcell, brothers, Ray and Jack Purcell and Sister Margaret Carson. Norma was retired from Centerville City Schools and a longtime member of Centerville United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son, Dave (Donna) of Centerville and daughter Deb Godshall of Centerville. Grandkids Mike Herron, Jennifer Pelgen (Jeff) of Centerville, Dan Godshall of Columbus, OH and Emily Godshall of Roswell, GA, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her grandkids were the love of her life and she loved spending time with them. She enjoyed watching football and enjoyed being around people. She always had a smile on her face! Thanks to the numerous caregivers at Miami Valley Hospital, Miami Valley South and Heartland of Centerville. Special thanks to the staff at Brookdale of Washington Township for taking such great care of her during her short stay with you. Very special thanks to the caregivers at Hospice of Dayton. Friends may call Friday, August 14, 2015 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-Far Hills Chapel; where funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 15, 2015 with Pastor Greg Crabtree officiating.
