

Norman Lee Spearman was born November 17, 1923 to the late Cora Lee Spearman and Henry Spearman of Hamilton, Alabama. He was the eldest of their four children who all preceded him in death: Lossie Wright, Leager Howard and Jerry Spearman.
After serving in the Navy during WWII, he moved to Dayton, Ohio and worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base for 35 years. He was a faithful member of the Church of God in Christ (COGIC) for over 75 years and became an ordained minister at Mt Zion Church of God in Christ. Elder Spearman served where needed but had a special love for Sunday School and served in various capacities throughout the local and state districts.
He leaves to cherish his memory Glenda Spearman and their four children: Elise (Dave) Hemm, Sheena Spearman (Mark Sagrans), Chel-lee (Luka) Savic and Norman Jarmaal Spearman.
Grandchildren: Alex Hemm, Chloe Hemm, Nina Hemm, Brighton Sagrans, Jae'Lynn Spearman, Norman Jarmaal Spearman Jr., Nivea Spearman, Naja Spearman and Seantenae Parker Spearman. He was preceded in death by his little angel grand-daughter Jordan Spearman.
He is also survived by many friends (including Robert Taylor), nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave. from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. Funeral services will follow immediately beginning at 12:30 pm. Burial with military honors will be in Dayton National Cemetery at 2:00 pm. Repast will be held at 3:00 pm at Kohler Presidential Banquet Center.
