

Paul James "Jim" Rodgers Jr., aged 88, peacefully passed away on June 28, 2024, in Springboro, Ohio. He was born on July 17, 1935, in Dayton, Ohio and was a graduate of Chaminade High School and Wright State University. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years Mary Kathleen “Kathy” Rodgers, and daughter Teresa Marie.
Jim cherished his family deeply and leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication. He is survived by his children: Steve (Amy) Rodgers, Mike (Jane) Rodgers, Julie (Dan) Wannemacher; grandchildren, Monica (Justin) Griffiths, Kyle (Colleen) Rodgers, Isabella, Julian, Sebastian, and Oliver Rodgers, Kaitlyn (Matt) Schnipke, Kelli (Cooper) Rea, Luke Wannemacher; and great-grandchildren, Macklen Griffiths, Sydney Rodgers, and Norah, Leo, and Jude Schnipke. He is also survived by his brother Richard (Joan) Rodgers, sister Patricia (Ken) Coverdell, brother-in-law Tom (Terry) Coyle, sister-in-law Mary Lynn (Dave) Spitznagel and many other family and friends.
Professionally, Jim was a respected systems analyst who continued to share his expertise and passion for computers by teaching in his retirement. His enthusiasm for technology was only paralleled by his love for the Cincinnati Reds and The Ohio State and Notre Dame football teams.
Jim served in the Navy Reserves, a commitment that reflected his dedication to his country and community. He was a past President of the Miamisburg Lions Club and a member of St. Henry’s Parish.
Visitation will be held on July 5th, Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Henry’s Church, 6696 N. Springboro Pike, Dayton, Ohio. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM with Christian burial at Calvary Cemetery. Tobias Funeral Home of Dayton is handling the arrangements.
Jim’s family would also like to thank Tapestry Senior Living and Hospice of Dayton for all of their kindness and help. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Goodwill Easter Seals or Hospice of Dayton, organizations that were significant to him.
