TUCKER, Paul D., age 85 of Miami Township, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016. He was born in Jackson, Michigan, to Harold William and Caroline Ravani Tucker. He served as a Navy radio operator during the Korean War, attended art schools in several states, and spent six years as a Lay Mission Helper in Nigeria. He came to Dayton in 1965 to work as an artist and photographer for George A. Pflaum, Publisher. He later became a freelance photographer and then a photography teacher at Montgomery County JVS (CTC). Paul was an adventurer, a project guy, an author, a super storyteller-and loved to play the harmonica. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Harold Joseph Tucker, brother-in-law Walter T. Lorenz, nephew Brian Tucker and niece Jane Thurber. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lysbeth; his daughter Eileen(Jean Paul Kerhouant) and sons Daniel(Lidia)Tucker and Sean(Jennifer)Tucker; his brother Donald(Kay)Tucker, sisters-in-law Margaret Tucker, Linda Lorenz(Michael Thurber), and Audrey Lorenz; former sister-in-law Barbara Tucker; and a number of nieces and nephews. Also cherishing his memory are his grandchildren Morgan and Rhys Kerhouant, and Mariana, Emily and Elena Tucker. Paul was a longtime volunteer at St. Henry Parish and with the St. Vincent DePaul prison ministry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Henry Church, 6696 Springboro Pike 11:00AM Wednesday, April 13, 2016. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Paul’s memory may be made to Hospice of Dayton or to a favorite charity. Special thanks to the staff of Walnut Creek Nursing Center and Hospice of Dayton for their compassionate care.
