Pilar M. Weiss

WEISS, Pilar M. de la Aguilera, age 67 of Kettering, died Sunday, July 1, 2012. Pilar was born on February 28, 1945 in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba. She was preceded in death by her father Thomas de la Aguilera. Pilar is survived by her husband of 40 years, Brian; children, Kevin of Tallahassee FL and Melisa (Michael) Dungan; mother, Pilar; brother, Tomas of Louisville KY; and many close relatives and good friends. Pilar came to this country in 1961 and graduated from St. Joseph Academy in St. Augustine FL and Miami Jacobs in Dayton. She worked for a number of years at NCR. After staying home to raise her children, she taught for the Spanish Immersion Program in Oakwood OH. She was dedicated to teaching the Spanish language to her young students. Pilar always cherished the memories of her beloved Cuba. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4500 Ackerman Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45429, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Father Gerald Haemmerle officiating. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
