Rebecca Boyd

11 September, 19698 February, 2020

Rebecca Ann Boyd, age 50, went to be with the Lord on the evening of February 8th, after courageously fighting autoimmune disease with determination, grace, and selflessness. Rebecca was born at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, September 11, 1969. She grew up primarily in Columbus, Ohio, and Bristol, Tennessee. Rebecca graduated from Tennessee High School and East Tennessee State University with a degree in business. She made her home in McKinney, Texas, and later, Beavercreek, Ohio. Rebecca had a rare quality of connecting and understanding individuals, allowing her to be the consummate professional and mentor in any career endeavor. After spending several years in a corporate environment, Rebecca rekindled a passion for education. After completing her teacher certification, she chose to specialize in teaching special education. In true form and fashion, Rebecca focused on the needs of others. Rebecca is survived by: her husband, Robert Boyd III; her children, Augustin, Kathryn, and Ryan; step children, Shawn and Patrick; father, Matthew Ryan; mother-in-law, Fran Boyd; her brother and sister-in-law, Matthew and Kelly Ryan, and their children Matthew, Nicholas, and Megan; her sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Kyle Odom, and their children Ellie, Lawson, and Amon; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Rebecca was preceded in death by her mother, Freeda Ryan; her father-in-law, Robert Boyd Jr; her grandmothers Effie Gibson and Eleanore Ryan.; grandparents-in law, Margaret Boyd , Frank and Ethel Murphy. Rebecca's primary passion was taking care of those she loved most. Her family was always first and foremost in her actions and thoughts. In the rare occasion she would make time for herself, she enjoyed shopping for fine clothes, decorating her home, watching good movies, and spending time planning future family events. Rebecca had a generous nature and also loved a good laugh. Her laugh was enough to fill a room, and others could not help but join. Rebecca will be most appreciated, loved, and remembered as a rare and special example by her family and friends.
