Robert E. Kiesel

Robert E.Kiesel, age 77 of Beavercreek, passed away Friday, September 19, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Constance Kiesel, in 1997 and a special friend, Kay Wolfe in 2011. He is survived by three sons: Donald and wife Lori Kiesel of Beavercreek, William Kiesel of Beavercreek and Patrick Kiesel and wife Karen of Louisville, KY. Six grandchildren also survive him: Kylie, Kory, Kassidy, Kameron, Matthew and Danielle Kiesel, as do two brothers: William Kiesel and Richard (Patricia) Kiesel, all of NY. Bob was retired from the US Air Force with twenty years of service as a RADAR Technician, serving tours in the Philippines and Alaska. He had a second career with the US Postal Service, retiring following twenty years. He was a member of the Dayton Moose Lodge #73, American Legion Post #763 and Knights of Columbus Council 7981. Bob was also known to many people as Bernie the clown’s pal, Popcorn the clown. Friends may call on the family at the Tobias Funeral Home-Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. on Tuesday evening, September 23, 2014 from 3 PM until 7 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 11 AM. Interment will be in Valley View Memorial Garden following the funeral. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Robert’s memory to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave. Dayton, OH 45420 or the Special Olympics.
