The Lincoln Society grieves the loss of a vital lifetime member. Bob's presentation of the Gettysburg Address would bring tears to his audience eyes. Like Lincoln, he was an honorable, yet quiet man and a true leader in his church and community. He will be greatly missed.

I am sorry to hear about the passing of Bob Koogler. Bob and Sarah were extra special and deeply involved at Normandy Church. They gave so much of their time and love. Bob and Sarah were our wedding coordinators and made our day extra special. As past president of the Lincoln Society of Dayton, it was always a gift to hear Bob recite the Gettysburg Address and to see him and Sarah in their attire as President Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln in parades and at events. Bob also enjoyed performing as Elvis Presley and it was a lot of fun to be one of his backup singers!

I worked with Bob for a little longer than a year and a half. Bob was one of the kindest people I have ever met. He truly was a gentle giant.  One of my favorite memories is one of the days we worked together. It was one of the nights before one of his Lincoln meetings, and he had walked away to get changed. He returned and I will always remember how awesome he looked in his Abe getup. I am so very sorry for the loss of the Koogler family.  Bob will always be remembered for the kind soul he was.

Bob was one of the most important members of Normandy and will be greatly missed. He was always available to anyone who needed assistance. He was the usher, choir singer, and acolyte trainer.  Prior to his wife’s death, they  were wedding coordinators.  He was a quiet man and a devoted Christian.  Normandy Church was blessed to have had this man as a long time member.

A celebration of Bob's life will be announced at a future date.
