Papa,
I miss you each and every day. You were my protector, grandpa, idol, and so much more. I always felt safe in your presence and have always looked up to you. The day we played basketball in the rain will forever be embedded into my memories. Words can’t describe the sorrow I feel. I love you papito.

To all you loving people who took the time to write a beautiful and heartfelt memory here… on behalf of my siblings, Salim , JP, Maria Anais, and myself, my mom, and our families, THANK YOU! I cannot begin to explain how it warms my heart and fills my eyes with tears to hear these stories. My dad was such a loving parent, amazing person, incredible doctor, and I could make the list long… yet I was his first born, and I loved him so so much. But to hear the loving messages you have all written here, makes me so happy… happiest for him. He dedicated  his life to his patients, he loved being a doctor and taking care of his patients. Thank you so very much for your kind words, for loving him, and for expressing your loyalty and friendship to him. I can’t begin to tell you how wonderful to hear. Bless you all 💗

Es difícil creer que haya muerto doctor, solo queda pedirle a Dios que lo tenga a su lado en un lugar mejor, gracias por todo el amor hacia las personas, como olvidar los deseos que usted tenia hacia uno, gracias porque pasó en éste mundo como un ángel luchando por salvar vidas, como poder olvidar cuando opero al padre Antonio Gomes y fué allí cuando lo conocí y desde ese día lo admire como nadie se imagina siempre preocupado en hacer bien, no olvido sus palabras cuando me dijo que su hija iba a pasar recogiendo mis exámenes médicos cuando enfermé y ver como me ayudaba o cuando me dijo que fuera a la embajada a solicitar mi visa para darme un mejor trabajo si llegaba a los Estados Unidos o cuando me consiguió trabajo con el señor Juan Minondo con quien no pude trabajar porque era de chofer de carro y yo no podía manejar y le dije a usted los motivos y usted sin molestarse me dijo "no se preocupe, de que lo ayudo lo ayudo"  que gran corazón tenia usted  doctor Salim Dahdah el señor lo tenga en su gloria y le dé resignación y consuelo a su familia.

My husband, Riley is here today because of Dr. Dahdah.  He has saved his life many times.  He was compassionate and like a friend.  He will be missed.

Until now I can express something over the pain and grief in my heart. My must beloved uncle Salim,  the greatest Doctor in the whole sense of the word, a great human being, in his own way a faboulous family man and for me in my early years as a young doctor,  my first an only inspiration. He thougth me the real sense of being there first for the patient, great ethics, hardworking, knowledge, heart, mind and spirit for such a hard profession like medicine.  I wasn’t able to follow your steps  but you are still that star who guide me when I have doubts about my actions not only in my daily practice but in the resta of my life activities including farming.  I Will keep the promise I made to you, I will take care of  all the things and events around here.
I don’t have printed pictures of you and me, the y are in my heart until we ser each other again.

1987 My husband had a cardiac arrest in Urbana DrDahdah  and mrsDahdah came to hospital to see him at 10:00 pm that night. He was the most caring and smart Dr any one could have. Our last visit Marion said I will be 90 in May Dr said my goal is to get you to 100 we all laughed and hugged .we feel apart of our family has been taken . Dr Dahdah was not only a great doctor to his patients he was also a great doctor to us nurses. He would come into the unit telling jokes or laughing at ours. Always teaching us with gentleness and encouragement. He was very helpful to me as a young nurse and I will always remember him for his kindness and smile. I'm sorry for your loss, you lost an awesome man. Rest in Peace Dr. Dahdah and thank you for your selflessness and years of caring.

So sorry for your loss.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.  Dr. Dahdah was Larry’s cardiologist for years. He was terrific; always took his time with him on every office visit.  Great concern for his patients.  When our family physician left town, he immediately said he would take care of us.  He will be missed.  RIP

I worked at MMC and it was always such a pleasure when he came onto the floors. . Always pleasant, always kind and loved to hear that accent. He was loving, caring & considerate to his patients. Never heard him say an unkind word to anyone. Springfield and surrounding area has lost a great one. Praying for his family that God may speak peace & comfort. RIP...gone but not forgotten. Dr.Dahdah  was my doctor for over 20 years.When I had my heart attack in 1997 he rode wih me in a ambulance from Mercy Hospial to Good Sam in Dayton.He did a heart procedure there and saved my life.He was a great doctor and friend,I will miss him greatly.

To the family, I have a heavy heart learning of the passing of such a wonderful, caring Dr.  He saved my daughter's life, and when she passed, it was like his daughter passing, the way it affected him. My son was his patient for years. Not another Dr. in this city would do anything for my son, because he had no insurance or money. For two years, Dr. Dahdah did, and not one time did he ever say, "I can't treat you anymore". My mother, each one of her main arteries was blocked, had it not been for Dr Dahdah, she would have died years ago, but thanks to him and GOD, mom just passed  four years ago. He also was my Dr. He left a heritage, of loving, and caring about people, no discrimination of race, or wealth. This community has lost a great Dr. and loving man. I pray GOD keeps each and everyone of you.

Dr Dahdah was a warm and caring doctor. My deepest sympathy to his family.

I met Salim shortly after he arrived in Springfield. He was a wonderful, warm,guileless person. He had an amazing sense of humor and spirit. Although I didn't have the need of his professional services, we did share a love of old cars. It was also my pleasure to see and care for some of his lovely grandchildren when they were visiting. I  will miss him and his wonderfully warm laugh

 Dr Dahdah  was a great Dr and a Friend. He saved my husband for 35 years. We will miss him. We talked many time of our health, and our lives also . Bless you   Dave and Bev

To the children of Dr. Dahdah- you are very blessed to have had such a wonderful man as a father!  I was one of the very first nurses to work with him in the CCU at Mercy Medical Center - I remember  sharing stories of our medical procedures and training him in how our unit worked- we share laughter- hard work and a compassion for the patients under our care - when my own mother required a cardiologist - there was no other choice to be  made and he saved her life that time and worked hard to maintain her quality of life for as long as her heart would allow.   He was also our choice again when our father needed a cardiologist.

He was a great and kind man and an inspiration for those of us who were fortunate to have worked with and beside him.  

Never lay the mistakes of society take away your pride for the man he was!

 We are sending are sincere  thoughts and prayers at the passing of one of the most devoted doctors we have ever had the privilege of knowing...my husband has been a patient of this devoted doctor  For twenty five year so we seen first hand his devotion to his patients..we are truly saddened by his death,and consider our friendship  with Salim  as  one that we  will cherish forever.. Dr. Dahdah gave my dad a better quality of life & ALWAYS kept my Dad's health and well being a top priority when being consulted about other heath factors. My dad's case was unique & delicate, and Dr. Dahdah didn't let other doctors to try persuade my dad if the risks were too great. My Dad passed away in 2011, he would be sad to hear of this,  as am I. I have respect & sincere appreciation & gratitude for the extra years I had with my Dad because of Dr. Dahdah's care. Prayers for his loved ones he left behind. 

Dr. Dahdsh took care of my family for over 30 years.. I'm so sorry to hear this ..condolences to Cindy and the family I will miss him being there and the care that he took with of all of us

We are so very sorry to hear this news even though we were aware of his illness.    He was our family cardiologist...both of my parents and for the two of us, going back to when he first started practicing in Springfield.   He was the dearest man, on a personal level, and he was so compassionate  and so personable with us, as his patients.    Sometimes you had to wait to see him the day of your appointment, but as we personally experienced many times, that when you needed him he was right there for you so those waits were minor in comparison to the care he gave us.   As many others have said, he was such a truly caring human being...devoted to his patients and to his practice;
He was like a member of the family....always remembered situations, ailments, etc.  He always had time to communicate clearly to us for our understanding; always had time
to share a laugh or a cry.    We have missed him and will keep him and his children and their mother in our prayers at this difficult time.   We are so glad that we had the opportunity for him to be an important human being in our lives.  We all loved him very much...Paul and Janis Numbers and Tom and Jan Chase.

I am a foster/adopt Mother who was taking care of a set of twins I had been raising since the 6th day of their birth who were now 9 months old, along with my 3 year old son at the time. My leg was starting to give out  and I was having lots of pain. One day I just got in the telephone book, yes I'm old school and picked a Doctor and it was Dr. Dahdah. I  took a 2 week vacation from the twins and went to see Dr. Dahdah, he took a lot of time explaining what test he was going to take and what he was looking for and the future of my hip, back and leg. After several test he sent me to  Dr.  Kamel Abraham. I was so impressed by the way he treated me just like I was his family member. I doubt in this lifetime that I will ever find another Doctor like Dr. Dahdah.  
  My condolences to his family and a thank you for sharing him with all of us patients.  

Dr Dahdah was amazing. If you ever had a question, he would stop and sit down, draw pictures, or whatever it took to help you understand.  I worked as an RN and knew him for many years.  He will be missed. 

Dr. Dah Dah took great care of my mom.  She liked him so much.  We would wait a long timebto see him but he never rushed her and provided excellent care.  Sympathy to his loved ones.

Dr. DD was wonderful to me! My heart goes out to his family and friends. 

Dr. DahDah treated both me and my husband.  He was so kind and so very dedicated to helping his patients.  He saved my life.  He always took time to answer any questions or concerns you had and he was so talented and intelligent about so many things.  We miss him greatly and extend our deepest sympathy to his family.  This area (Springfield) lost a great man.

I could write a book about  the kindness and the caring he had for his patients. He was not only my cardiologist for thirty-five  years plus, but he was my friend. Never was too busy to talk and answer all of my questions. Best Dr. I have ever had. Miss him a whole lot. Think about him a lot. Believe I will see him again beyond this life.

Condolences to the family. He was the best Cardiologist. I am alive today because his thorough care,I am alive after 24 years of care. Will miss him. I was his patient all those  years. 

DR. Dahdah has been are family heart doctor for years. First he was my dad's James Adams than my moms Nancy Adams than he became mine. He saved my dad live a lot and my mom to and he saved me to he found a blood clot on my lung so he wasn't just a good man he was a great man in my family eye's so he will be missed in are ❤   R.I.P   DR. My heart is heavy at the passing of such a brilliant, dedicated and inspiring physician. Grateful to have served alongside Dr. Dahdah for a few years, I was constantly impressed by his genuine character, compassion,  humility,  and respectful manner.  Possessed of a limitless breadth of medical expertise, a laser-like focus and photographic memory, his passion for small details served well his comprehensive and exhaustive approach to patient care.  Resisting subordination of his assistants, instead regarding them as equal, a fellow colleague, trustworthy clinician, and guarded friend. Not because he had to, but because of who he was; I'll always be in his debt for that, and will miss him very much.

We will fondly remember Salim Dahdah for his excellent level of care -- his knowledge, dedication, surgical expertise, patience and humor,  consistent  throughout our 35-year association.  We are deeply saddened by his passing and will continue to miss him.  Our sincere condolences to his family.  Rest in peace, Dr. Dahdah.

I was one of Dr. Dahdah's early patients years ago and found him to be a very caring and kind man, as well as a great doctor.  He always seemed truly concerned about me and my two sons who he followed as well.  I am so sorry that he left this life so soon, much too early for such a good man. He will be missed by many and remembered fondly often.

Salim affected  many people who got to know him.  My experience was both social and professional.  It was my honor and pleasure to have have known him as I did.  He suffered terribly in his last years far in excess of someone deserving of much better.
I was proud to claim him as my cardiologist and friend and hope that many other people feel the same.  I will miss his greatly.    Ron
