

Sarah May Van Norman, 88 years old, went to her heavenly eternal home on Saturday, January 9, 2016 from her home in Beavercreek, Ohio, surrounded by four generations of family and friends. She is survived by the love of her life Leon with whom she enjoyed over 64 years of marital bliss. She is also survived by her three kids and their families: Naomi (Carlos) Becerra of Brownsburg Indiana, Wayne (Jennifer) Van Norman of San Jose California, and Harrell (Loretta) Van Norman of Beavercreek Ohio; also survived by grandchildren Audrey Van Norman, Brenna Van Norman, Cyrus (Roxanna) Van Norman, Aaron (Robin) Van Norman, David Becerra, Beth Van Norman, John Van Norman and great-grandchildren Brooke Van Norman and Obadiah Van Norman. She is also survived by one sister, Patty (Richard) Graham of Vincent Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews. Sarah had a servant’s heart and a passion for caring for others that translated into a career as a nurse, and a lifetime of ministry that included serving through her local church, feeding the hungry through food pantries, helping the homeless, and caring for the ill through Hospice ministries. She was always putting the needs of others before her own. She loved her LORD and would read her Bible and make the most of each day. It was the simple things around her that he never took for granted, praising God daily for how fortunate and thankful she was. She was a woman of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ’s love and His beauty and peace. Friends may call at the Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. on Monday evening, January 11, 2016 from 5-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 3 PM. Interment in Dayton National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
