

Shane was born in Buffalo, NY on February 12, 1970. Son of Marvin and Joan (Pond) Bogardus. Shane was a graduate of Rushford Central High School, class of 1988 where he is most remembered for his saves on the soccer field, his great big smile, larger than life and caring personality.
He attended college at JCC in Olean, NY where he also became a member of the Pudgies crew.
Shane worked as a laborer for Miller Pipeline. In his younger years, he worked for the railroad as a maintenance of way operator for many years. Shane was a hard worker and loved to operate the heavy equipment.
Shane was the life of the party and knew no strangers. In his free time he loved to be with family, go fishing and hunting and watch the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Shane is survived by his loving daughter, Kalie Bogardus, 28 of Mount Vernon, TX; his loving son Tyler Bogardus (Kara May), 27 of Garland, TX; loving mother, Joan Bogardus of Rushford, NY; loving fiancé Candace Colyer and her 3 kids Tori, Jacob and Zoe of Fairborn, OH; 3 sisters: Lisa Hoy (Robert Rosiek) of Colden, NY, Michele Hoy of Rochester, NY, Danielle Bogardus of Arcade, NY; 1 brother: Allan (Lisa) Hoy of Nunda, NY; 2 grandsons who were the light of his life: Cayson, 5 of Mount Vernon, TX, Ayson, 2 of Garland, TX; several nieces and nephews; 2 great nephews and many friends.
Shane is preceded in death by his father, Marvin Bogardus.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Soin Medical Center for the excellent care and family support.
A celebration of life will be held in the Spring or early Summer and will be announced at a later date.
