Shawn David Perkins

Shawn David Perkins, 50, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 9, 2025. Born in Dayton, Shawn was a devoted father, cherished friend, and a proud business owner.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna L. Matthews; his father, Don Matthews; and his siblings, Lantz, Connie, Michael, and John Hunt. Shawn is survived by his two sons, Tyler and Jake Perkins, who were the center of his world. He is also survived by his sisters Kim and Bonnie, Aunt Debbie, several nieces, cousins, and an enormous circle of friends, including his childhood sweetheart and ex-wife, Jen Perkins.

Shawn owned and operated Perkins Lawn and Landscaping for many years, taking great pride in his work and relationships he built with clients. His dedication to his craft was evident in every project he undertook.

Above all, Shawn cherished the time spent with his sons, Tyler and Jake. Whether it was coaching their sports teams, attending school events, or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home, he was always present and engaged.

As the family navigates this difficult time, they ask for your thoughts and prayers. Shawn’s legacy of love, dedication, and friendship will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A celebration of Shawn’s Life will be held on June 19, 2025 from 4-8 pm at Southern Ohio Brewery.
