

Heck (Schoenlein), Virginia A. – “Ginny” 65, of Dayton, passed away Friday July 3rd 2015 peacefully surrounded by family. Ginny is survived by her longtime companion – Leo Wasserman, her son, Douglas and Vanessa Heck, her daughter-in-law; her daughter, Kristina and Douglass Hargett, her son-in-law; three wonderful granddaughters: Jaden(14), Lydia(11), and Audrey(8); her brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Bonita Schoenlein; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas and her parents, Albert and Anna Schoenlein. Ginny was a fifty year cancer survivor and celebrated life. She graduated from Carroll High School and married Thomas in May 1969. Together, they raised their family in Centerville. She worked for many years in Dr. Charles Dickerson’s dental office and then in the MetLife’s customer response center. Both roles allowed her ‘people-oriented and relationship building’ qualities to shine. She was an active member of the philanthropic sorority Beta Sigma Phi. Later in life, Ginny treasured spending time with her 3 granddaughters and family, traveling throughout the country, going to theater/concert performances, walks in the arboretum, and even an occasional tandem bike ride! Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday July 10th 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 411 East Second Street, Dayton, Ohio 45402. Prior to mass, visitation at St. Joseph will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM to offer respect to Ginny and her family. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
