

Virginia Rose Emma Holtmann, 96, of Fairborn, OH formally of Charleston, IL passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at The Liberty Nursing Center in Beavercreek, OH. Virginia was born on November 3, 1918 in Northville, SD. She was the firstborn and only daughter of Bryon Halpenny of Northville, SD and Mary Marguerite La Fontaine Halpenny originally from Quebec, Canada. She married Harold J. Holtmann in Chicago IL, on July 1, 1939. They were married for 52 years until his death on December 29, 1991 at the age of 72. She is survived by her son Harold J. Holtmann Jr. and his Golden Labrador, Charlie of Fairborn OH, daughter Diane LaFlamme; one brother, Franklin (Betty) Halpenny of Olive Branch, MS; seven grandchildren, Ginny (Mike) Hubbartt of Ashmore IL, Edward LaFlamme, Terri Neely, Joseph Neely, Thomas Holtmann, Kevin Holtmann and Paul Holtmann; four great-grandchildren, Suzanna Hubbartt, Rachel Hubbartt both of Charleston IL, Samantha Neely of St. Paul MN, and Tyler LaFlamme as well as, three great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers Loren Halpenny, Donald Halpenny and one great-granddaughter Megan Neely. Virginia was a homemaker and beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt. Her generous, loving nature touched many in her long and productive life. Memories of her will be kept alive by all who were blessed by her strong, beautiful spirit. Her legacy of faithfulness, love and mercy lives on and she will be deeply missed. At her request, Virginia will be cremated and services will be held privately by her family. Virginia supported St. Joseph's Indian School in Chamberlain, SD.
