Amy Elizabeth Thomas

Amy Elizabeth Thomas, age 45 passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Celebration of Life on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery.

Amy is preceded in death by: Grandparents Gilbert Couch and Bernice Couch, Meathel Shoemaker, and Richard Thomas, and Mother, Janet Couch Thomas.

Amy is survived by: Father, Richard Dalton Thomas (Jane) her children, Jacob (MaryAnn) Nave and Tyler (Genara) Nave; Siblings: Brothers, Gil Thomas, Derick Davis (Desiree), Shane Davis (Heather) and Sister, Mary Lynn Ray (Shane); Grandchildren, Nic, Niall and Laya Nave; Nieces, Kymberli Rawlings (Connor), Courtney Burns, and Madeline Thomas; Nephew, Bryson Davis, and Great-Nephew, Silas.

There are so many things that could be said about our mother Amy. Honestly we don't know where to start. She was born and raised in Decatur, AL where she grew up to become an avid softball player as a teenager. She would then come to have 2 beautiful boys that she loved and cared for so dearly. Amy had a passion for her family, friends, and of course running. She is so well known within the running community. For the last 7 years she worked so hard losing weight and pretty much becoming a running superstar. She achieved her life long goal of completing not 1 but 3 marathons. She achieved so many things in her life and we are so proud of all that mom accomplished. Other than running, her number one things in life were God and her grandbabies. She was so excited once Nic was born and even more once her 2 other grandchildren were born and brought into this world. She was overjoyed having 3 grandbabies that she could call hers and she loved them all equally. She loved to have a good time and just be with her family and friends. We will never forget who she was and how much she loved us.
