Callie Downs McLemore Moore Darsey, 79, of Decatur passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024. Her Celebration of Life Gathering will be on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home.
Mrs. Darsey was born on September 22, 1944 to Lonnie and Betty McLemore. She retired from Goodys. Mrs. Darsey was a lifetime member of Decatur Elks Lodge BPOE #655 and Decatur Emblem Club #127. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Dowman Darsey; brother, Lonnie McLemore, Jr. and sister, Lataine McLemore Layton.
Mrs. Darsey is survived by her son, Arthur Moore, Jr. (Janet); daughter, Nicole Moore; granddaughter, Shanna Richard (Trey); 2 great grandchildren that brought her an abundance of love, laughter and happiness, Maddox Richard and Crew Richard all of Decatur; sisters, Portia McLemore Murphy of Falkville, AL and Naomi Graham (Marty) of Ohio; brother, Wendell McLemore and sister in law, Margie Blanton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Valley.
