Douglas Christopher Rhodes Jr.

Visitation will be on Monday, August 5, 2024 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at Roselawn Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Memorial will follow at 7:30pm, with Pastor David Little officiating.

Douglas Christopher Rhodes Jr. is survived by his mother, Paula Rhodes; father, Doug Rhodes; sister Kristi Lawson; half brother, Tyler Woods; nieces, Kaylin and Kylah Lawson, Keleigh Woods; great niece, Ma’Lyah Love; two children, Madison and Hayden Rhodes; grandparents, Albert “Buddy” Rhodes (Martha) of Pensacola, FL.; uncles, Jack (Helen) Rhodes of Green Bay, WI., David Rhodes, Danny Rhodes of Pensacola, FL., and Harry (Marilyn) Miller of York, PA., and a host of cousins and friends.

Douglas Rhodes AKA "Houdini" was an affectionate, dedicated, and hardworking individual who always put the needs of others ahead of his own. He was born in Decatur, Alabama in 1985 to Paula and Doug Rhodes.

He was known for his compassionate nature, giving spirit, and witty sense of humor. Douglas was the life of the party and there was never a dull moment with him. He loved to kayak, hike, and ride his motorcycle.

Douglas had a very adventurous spirit. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and offer words of comfort to whomever needed it. He was a maintenance guru and worked in the poultry industry as well as the construction field.

Douglas certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family. He was a remarkable son, a wonderful brother, a loving father to his two children and an amazing uncle. His personality brought warmth and joy to everyone he encountered. Douglas loved life and always remained positive through all his tribulations.

His passing will be mourned deeply by everyone who knew and loved him. He will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those who were honored to have had the privilege of knowing him. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all those who have supported them during this time of immense loss.
