Edward Lynn Anderson

It is with considerable sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Edward "Eddie" Anderson, age 87, who was known affectionately as Eddie. He was born on January 21, 1939, and departed this world on March 5, 2026.

Edward owned and operated Anderson's office products for over 40 years in downtown Decatur and was involved in many business clubs and affiliations in the city. Among those were the Decatur Chamber of Commerce, the Toastmasters, and the Kiwanis. Edward also helped with many civic events such as the Decatur "Pancake Day."

In business, he felt that service mattered and was always ready to assist with customer's needs, even after hours or on the weekends.

Although the loss of Edward is profound, his life was filled with meaningful contributions and expressions of his faith. He attended Grant Street Church of Christ where he was a teacher, Deacon, and Elder. Then later in life he attended Decatur Church of Christ.

Edward's personality, marked by a perpetual readiness to greet everyone with a smile, coupled with his lifelong dedication to service, will be missed by many. We will remember him not only for his many business achievements but for his lifelong dedication of service to others in business and in Church.

Edward is survived by his wife, Winda Faye Anderson, whom were happily married for 65 years. He is also survived by his daughter Tanya Ramos (husband Dr. Tim Ramos); sons Michael Anderson (wife Louanne Anderson) and Jon Mark Anderson (wife Kim Anderson). His family circle also includes his grandson, Nico Ramos (wife Lanyssa Ramos), grandson Dr. Alex Ramos (wife Dr. Yali Ramos), his granddaughter Olivia Mayfield (husband Keeton Mayfield), and grandson Owen Anderson. Edward also has a great-grandson Mateo Ramos.

He is predeceased by his father, E.E. Anderson and his mother Cora Pearl Anderson.

His memory will be cherished and his life celebrated in the hearts of his loved ones.

Visitation for Edward will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 6:00-8:00 PM and the funeral will be Monday, March 9, 2026 at 11:00 AM, both at the Roselawn Funeral Home in Decatur, AL.26.
