Funeral service for Ernestine McDaniel Stevens, 80, of Decatur will be Saturday, January 7, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Terry Greer and Dr. Dan Ireland officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Roselawn Funeral Home assisted the family.
Mrs. Stevens, who died Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at her residence, was born February 24, 1931, in Birmingham, AL to Roy and Irene McDaniel. She attended Auburn University. Mrs. Stevens was married to Robert Douglas Stevens for 55 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and by one brother, James McDaniel.
Mrs. Stevens is survived by her son, Robert D. Stevens, Jr. (Steve) of Huntsville, AL; daughter, Leigh Stevens Lazenby of Decatur, AL; two granddaughters, Ann Wilson Lazenby and Hannah McDaniel Lazenby both of Decatur, AL; and twin sister, Billiejean McDaniel Bruce of Albertville, AL.
