Funeral for Flora Melson Russell, 67, of Decatur will be Friday, August 2, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 and Friday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Russell died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born November 12, 1945, in Tanner to Dennis Melson and Mamie Flannigan Melson. She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis Melson; brothers, Willard, Charles and Thelton Melson; and sisters, Vickie, Rita and Opal.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Gregory Russell; two daughters, Teresa Hargrove and Tina Gilchrist, both of Decatur; mother, Mamie Melson Brackens of Decatur; brother, Billy; five sisters, Joyce, Linda, Diann, Shirley and Carolyn; three grandchildren, Brittany, Brook and Aaron; and six great-grandchildren, Braxton, Brody, Bryant, Braylon, Hunter and Zane.
Pallbearers will be family.
