Frances Milton West Easter died Sunday April 15, 2012, after a brief illness at the age of 86. She was a resident of Brighton Gardens, Brentwood, Tenn. She was previously a resident at The St. Paul in Nashville, where she thrived and met many a dear friend.
She was born on March 9, 1926, the daughter of Sarah Aileen Patterson West and Lewis Holland West of Decatur. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 56 years, Daren Harrison Easter of Hamburg, Arkansas.
She is survived by her son, Robert Daren Easter of Atlanta, Ga., and her daughter, Carlin Aileen Easter (McQuiddy) and her husband, Dwight Webb McQuiddy of Nashville, Tenn.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Jonathan Robert Easter (Shayla) of Sanford, N.C., Sarah Margaret Frances Easter (Kirk) of Decatur, Ruth Ann Easter of Birmingham, Deborah Grace Easter (Garza) of Ardmore, Tenn., Clayton Webb McQuiddy and Rachel Easter McQuiddy of Nashville, Tenn. She is also survived by five (soon to be six) great grandchildren.
Mrs. Easter was born and raised in Decatur and attended Riverside High School and graduated from Montevallo University in 1948, where she met her future husband. She was employed by Wolverine Tube and was active in local charities and civic organizations. She was a lifelong member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Decatur where she taught Sunday school for 35 years. She was a member of the Decatur Junior Service League as well as the Decatur Jayceettes and served as president of both organizations. She was also very involved with the American Red Cross.
Frances enjoyed entertaining at their home in Decatur and especially fond memories for family and friends were created at their river house on Poplar Creek, which was affectionately known as "Nutsy Acres". Frances and Daren also enjoyed domestic and international travel.
Services will be held on Wednesday April 18, 2012, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Decatur at 11 a.m. Visitation with the family will be from 10 a.m. until time of service. John Skelly officiating. Pallbearers will be Robert Easter, Jonathan Easter, Webb McQuiddy and Clayton McQuiddy.
Honorary pallbearers will be Judson Hawthorne, Johnnie Washburn, Tom Craven and David Duke.
Following the memorial service she will be interred at Decatur Cemetery next to her loving husband, Daren.

Dr. Srinivas Nimmagadda and all of the loving caregivers that attended to her needs in her final days.
