Georgia Emogene Copeland

Funeral for Georgia Emogene Kinney Copeland, 79, of Decatur will be Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Decatur with Dr. Terry Greer, the Reverend Sandra Locke-Godbey and Dr. Willis Vickery officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Copeland, who died Sunday, January 8, 2012, at her residence, was born September 4, 1932, in Birmingham to Orus Eugene Kinney and Elsie Voncile Dupriest Kinney. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Decatur where she was a member of the Seekers Sunday school class. She was an Associate member of the Junior League of Morgan County, Decatur Assembly, Morgan-Lawrence Medical Auxiliary, Decatur General Foundation and was a graduate of Birmingham Southern College and a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dr. Sage D. Copeland; two sons, Steve Copeland (Joan) and Dr. Sage Kinney Copeland (Ann); two daughters, Sharon Copeland Gamble (Ken) and Julianne Copeland O'Hara (Vann); and eleven grandchildren, Jonathan Copeland, Matt Copeland, Ben Copeland, Lindsay Copeland, Sage Copeland (Bailey), Katie Copeland Daggett (Jeremy), Chris Copeland, Jackson Gamble, Georgia Gamble, Kathleen O'Hara and Hattie O'Hara.
