Dad is our Hero. Knowing what he did for us, we can only imagine how much he's done for others. He not only touched many lives, we are sure he changed many lives for the better.

We will always be grateful for that July day in 2001 when he was not only Tim's Dad, but Father of the Bride, and Best Man. We will always be grateful, and appreciative, for the year we were allowed to live with Dad and Mum, he taught us so much.

Dad, we will always remember: "Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional."

We will always love you. Rest in God's garden until we meet again.

Dad is the most important man in my life.  He taught me so much about life.  He IS an amazing man:  he and his work live on through all of us.  I am so proud of him, all the wonderful things he has done, and his lasting legacy.  I thought I knew all about him, but I have learned about so many more great things he has done.  He changed people's lives for the better! If I can follow his example in even the smallest way, I would be living a better life.  I remember when I was, what 4 years old?, and I had just learned how to tie my shoes.  I was finally able to tie them early one weekday.  Dad was at his office, soldiering away, and I couldn't wait until he got home.  I practiced tying them the rest of that day.  He got home and went to get changed in their bedroom.  I ran to him and said, "Look daddy, I can tie my shoes!!!!!"  Even though he was surely tired from a long day of working to support all of us, and wanted nothing more than to get out of his uniform and relax, he took the time to patiently praise me and tell me how proud he was that I could tie my shoes.  I remember that army uniform ... I miss him so much. I will always love him, and all my family, with all my heart!  We are so lucky to have family to come together.  I love you very much, Mike.

I'm not even sure where to begin. Father to my best friends, Soldier in the service to his country, husband to a wonderful wife. Quick with a smile, he was gentle and kind. In my mind, I'll always remember him when we were all stationed together in Germany in the late 1970's. Rest is Peace Gerry, and thank you for all you did for all of us. God Bless all of the Woodward's. Just remember, guys, that he'll live on in your memories and your hearts.

Dear Dottie and children,
