Funeral for Hazel M. Overton, 82, of Decatur will be Sunday, February 26, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Mike Holland officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Overton, who died Friday, February 24, 2012, at Decatur General Hospital, was born December 18, 1929, in Decatur to W. Harvey and Ozell Hill Nix. She retired from Kmart after 13 years of service. Her sister, Betty Nix Holder, preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son, Carl K. Overton Jr. of Decatur; two stepdaughters, Joyce Humphries of Curry and Doris Bell of Double Springs; one brother, Roland Nix of Decatur; one sister, Barbara Criscoe of Fairview; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
