James "JJ" Price Jones, 75, of Decatur, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022. A visitation for JJ will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home. A committal service will be on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at 1:15 PM at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Hwy 119, Montevallo, AL 35115.
"JJ" Jones is survived by his son, David Wayne (Traci) Jones; daughter, Tina Kay (Brian) Davis; grandchildren, Colton Jones, Dylan Jones, Katie Davis and Kalen Davis, and great grandson, Mason Jones.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Berlin "Buckshot" Jones and Hattie Mae Jones; wife Susan Johnson Jones and brother, Dicken Jones.
JJ retired from GM - Delphi after 30 years of service. He was a Sergeant in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969. While in the service he completed the Fifth U.S. Army Recondo Course, and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal. JJ was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, AERIE 4185, and VFW, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 4190. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
