James Edward Owen, 84, of Decatur, passed away on August 31, 2020. His visitation will be on Saturday from 10 am until 12 pm at Roselawn Funeral Home. His Celebration of Life will begin at 12 in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
He is survived by his sons, Alan(Kayce) Owen, and Steve(Smile) Owen; 8 grandchildren; sisters, Helen Bowers, and Elizabeth Gargis He is also survived by his longtime friend of 24 years, Shirley Hartsfield.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Peggy Owen; his parents, Elgin C. Owen, and Addie Lemay Owen, and seven brothers and sisters.
Mr. Owen loved being with his family, especially his grandkids, boating, going to the beach, and going to church, and was a member of Central Park Baptist Church for over 50 years.
