

Visitation will be on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home. The celebration of life service will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Decatur City Cemetery.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Gaines and Ora Hyatt and her husband Rev. Martin Chenault.
She leaves behind three sons Marty Chenault (Susan), Myron Chenault (Karen), and Phillip Chenault (Lisa), four grandchildren, Nathaniel Goodwin (Sarah), Sarah Chenault, William Chenault, and Olivia Chenault, and five great grandchildren.
Her life centered around Jesus Christ and her family.
She blessed those around her in song, playing piano, and singing hymns. She was very much a people person, caring, praying and visiting all she could. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Decatur.
She retired from the Alabama Baptist Children's Home after 23 years of service as secretary. After retiring she spent much of her time at church or tending her flower garden or planning an organizing family reunions. Her legacy of caring for people made an impact.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to Alabama Baptist Children's Home.
