Mary Clyde Reeves Worley, 76, of Hartselle, Alabama entered into her soul sleep to wait for her Lord and savior July 31st, 2024.She was preceded in death by her husband James Worley and her parents Clyde and Mary Moore Reeves.
Mary was born and raised in Hartselle, growing up on the family homestead. She spent her days riding her horses. She went to college and eventually earned her master's degree in teaching. She then married Boyd Haley and after a time they realized their lives were set to different paths. Sometime later she met and married James Worley. Mary Clyde taught at several different schools and eventually retired from Decatur City Schools. She enjoyed spending time through the years with all her animals including rabbits, horses, dogs, and she even tolerated a few cats; but Thomasina, her Boston Terrier, held a special place in her heart. In later years her confidants Queenie, Precious, and finally Sweetie gave her comfort and companionship until Sweetie crossed the Rainbow Bridge in August 2023. Mary Clyde was a reverent member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She attended the Decatur Seventh Day Adventist Church. She treasured spreading the word of Jesus with anyone she met, and that loved spilled out around the world. She sponsored 2 girls Kittie and Colleen from the time they were babies through Bangla Hope Ministries in Bangladesh, South Asia. All though she lived a modest life, her legacy and love will go on for years to come through the people she touched with her faith and life ministry. In lieu of flowers please donate to one of the following: Morgan County Animal Shelter, Bangla Hope Ministries at Banglahope.org, or Decatur Seventh Day Adventist Church.
