Mildred Jeanette Hutchison

She was born January 3, 1937, to Nova and Robert Light of Arab, AL. She married Willis Hutchison on October 14, 1955. They were married almost 51 years when he died July 4, 2006.

On August 1, 1951, she became a Christian and joined her home church in the community of Ruth, AL where she grew up. Later, she and Willis married and moved to Decatur in November of 1955. They were blessed with two children, Debra Ann and Tim. She joined Flint Baptist Church on February 28, 1960.

She is survived by her children and in-laws, Debra and Robb Wallace, Tim and Sis Hutchison; grandchildren and in-laws, Nikki and Josh Brunson, Rand and Jordan Hutchison, Kristie and Justin Byrd, and Taylor and Ciera Wallace; great-grandchildren Jace Brunson and Sawyer Brunson, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Hutchison; parents, Nova and Robert Light; brothers and in-laws Welton and Arnice Rutledge and Junior Rutledge; and sister, Aline Light.

A celebration of life will be held at Flint Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 13, at 2 o’clock p.m. with Bro. Wendell Bennett and Bro. Gary Cardwell officiating. Visitation will be at Flint Baptist Church from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12 with Roselawn Funeral Home directing. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Burningtree Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Deacons of the church.

The Flint Baptist Church choir will be directed by Joe Holmes, with musicians Connie Benson, Patricia Hall, Tim Hutchison, Rand Hutchison, and soloist Dana Sharp.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Flint Baptist Church Building Fund.
