

Funeral for Nancy Phillips Glasco Salopek of Decatur, formerly of Huntsville, who passed away March 23, 2026, at Summerford Health and Rehab, will be Saturday, March 28 at Roselawn Funeral Home with visitation in the chapel at 11:00 AM and graveside service at 12:00 PM at Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Salopek was born Jan. 14, 1934, in Decatur to John Warren Phillips Sr. and Carrie Louise Fairley Phillips. She attended Decatur schools, graduating from Decatur High School in 1953. She received an associate's degree in Applied Science in Medical Records Technology from Calhoun Community College.
Mrs. Salopek was assistant director in Medical Records at Humana Hospital in Huntsville, retiring in 2012 to spend more time with her husband and family.
She and her husband Matthew Salopek made many friends in Huntsville while enjoying traveling, playing golf with friends and spending time with grandchildren.
She was a member of Decatur Methodist Church in Decatur, AL which she loved attending and her love for the Lord.
Mrs. Salopek was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Matthew Salopek; sisters Louise Bolding and Emily Speegle; and brothers John Warren Phillips Jr., Percy G. Phillips and Billy Glen Phillips.
Survivors include her children Mike Glasco (Holly) of Friendswood, Texas; Debbie Duncan (Bob) and Tim Glasco, both of Decatur; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mike Glasco, Tim Glasco, Bob Duncan, Jamie Tate, Jonathan Alfaro and Eddy Belew.
