Funeral service for Odessa Vaughn Cowen, 88, of Hartselle will be Wednesday, November 27. 2013, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Reverend J.W. Clark and Dr. Ben Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cowen, who died Sunday, November 24, 2013, at Parkway Medical Center, was born November 23, 1925, in Guntersville to William C. Vaughn and Ollie Walker Vaughn. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hartselle. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Roy Cowen; parents, William C. Vaughn and Ollie Walker Vaughn; three brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include one son, William "Son" Cowen and wife, Jennifer, of Decatur; and one grandson, Jonathan W. Cowen of Hartselle.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Cowen, Leamon Martin, James Vaughn, Stephen Clark, Freddie Zirbel and David Nelson.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Parkway Medical Center and Hospice of North Alabama for the love and care she received.
