Mr. Robert Gene Irvin, age 80, of Decatur, Al. passed away on Monday, February 2, 2015 at NHC Healthcare in Moulton, Al. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Union, Grove Al. at 1:00 PM with Pastor Brian McLaughlin officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 till 1:00 PM at Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Mr. Irvin was in the US Air Force from 1952 till 1956, he was retired from Monsanto in 1996 after 39 ½ years of service. Mr. Irvin was preceded in death by his parents Dewey Franklin Irvin and Cordie Wilson Irvin Maples, three brothers Aubrey Irvin, William Grady Irvin, Melvin H. Irvin, two sisters Pauline Young, Betty Mae Kelley.
Survivors are one son Douglas Eugene (Melissa) Irvin, daughter Rhonda Lynne Irvin (Rodney) Johnson, one brother Boyd Edward (Annette) Irvin, grandchildren Allison Alaina Johnson, Amanda Leigh Johnson, Nathan Andrew Johnson, Robert Douglas Irvin, Kyle Joseph Irvin, Kaitlin Elizabeth Irvin, great grandchildren Andrew Douglas Irvin, Jackson Ray Irvin.
