Funeral for Robert R. "Buck" Cheatham, 77, of Decatur will be Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Patton and Irvin Himmel officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Cheatham, who died Monday, February 21, 2011, at his residence, was born April 3, 1933, in Morgan County to Frank and Maggie Cheatham. He retired from Decatur Utilities after 48 years and 10 months. He was a member of Somerville Road Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Janie C. Cheatham; two daughters, Susan C. Watson (Mike) and Laura C. Bishop (Jeff); one sister, Christine Odell; and one grandson, John W. Bishop.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Roberts, Jimmy Miller, Ed Davidson, David Montgomery, Arnold Shell, Donald Orr, Keith Drake and Joel Herring.
Honorary pallbearers will be Decatur Utilities employees and retirees.
