

Ronnie was born on October 2nd, 1958, in Decatur, Alabama to Fred Edward Wright Jr. & Addie Lee Kitchens Wright. Ronnie was a caring son, brother, uncle & friend. He left this world on February 27th, 2026, at the age of 67.
Ronnie graduated from Decatur High School in 1977 where he played football. 3 years (lettered) Junior Who’s Who, Mu Alpha Theta – 2 years, Blood Drive, FCA, Jr-Sr Prom Committee.
He was known and loved by many in the North Alabama area, as his many businesses allowed him to work not only in Decatur, but all over the Tennessee Valley. He owned and operated Wright’s Professional Lawn Care for many years, which was his passion as he loved designing and transforming one’s yard into something beautiful and functional. He also owned Funland Self Storage. He was former owner of Wright’s Garden Center, Morningside Shop Ezy, 7/11 Convenience store on Country Club Rd, and co-owner of The Plant Place in Decatur.
Ronnie demonstrated unwavering compassion and had a giving heart in both personal and professional life. He was recognized for his generosity and kindness. He was a selfless individual who consistently put the needs of others before his own. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Ronald E. Wright was preceded in death by his father Fred Edward Wright Jr.; mother, Addie Lee Kitchens Wright and brother, Carlton Wayne Wright.
He is survived by his two brothers, Donald Lynn Wright and Fred Michael Irish; “his girls”/nieces, Whitney Ralson (Stephen), Stephanie Wright (Jeffrey), Britni Fuqua (Cody) and Tiffany Coleman (Caleb); his nephews, Patrick Irish (Lauren) and Russell Wright (Kala); great nieces and nephews, Zoey, Harper, Isabella, Bentley, Brylee, Johnny, Memphis, Rylan, Eleanor, Griffin, Gracie, and Ryan.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 5th, 2026, from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home located in Decatur, AL. Memorial Service will start at 5:00 PM with Pastor Robert Lee, Ronnie's longtime best friend, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you consider a donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. This was where he had donated to every year and was very passionate about.
