Funeral for Walter R. Mayhall, 75, of Decatur will be Saturday, April 14, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Robert Strane officiating. Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Mayhall, who died Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Attalla Healthcare, was born April 19, 1936, in Cullman to Henry Mayhall and Stella Carnes Mayhall. He retired as a chemical operator from Amoco Chemical after 31 years. He worked with the Dixie Youth Baseball in Decatur for 25 years. His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include four sons, Jason Mayhall (Tracie), Raven Mayhall (Caitlin), Logan Mayhall and Conner Durden, all of Decatur; one daughter, Robin Phillips of Decatur; one brother, Alvin Mayhall of Cullman; one sister, Bessie Champion of Cullman; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
