William Bean Lee

Reverend William B. Lee, 90, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Magnolia Ridge Nursing Home in Gardendale, AL. A Celebration of Life will be Monday, August 1, 2016 at 12 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Dora, AL. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in New Horizon Memorial Gardens in Dora.

Mr. Lee was born in Decatur, AL. on December 27, 1925 to William and Annie Bean Lee. He was a Southern Baptist who pastored churches in Alabama and Mississippi for over 55 years.

He was an Army Veteran of WWII serving as a Combat Engineer. He served in China, Burma and India. He was affectionately known to his grandchildren as Pa Bean. He loved his family and family gatherings. He loved Jesus and was a soul winner. He that winneth souls is wise. Proverbs 11:30.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 66 years: Dorothy Jo Lee and by his son-in-law: James D. Anderson.

He is survived by his son: Steve (Cheryl) Lee, daughter: DeRenda Jo Anderson, grandchildren: Jeff (Gina) Anderson, Craig (Tina) Anderson, John Mark (Lori) Anderson, Chad Lee and Michael (Kelli) Lee, great-grandchildren: Josh, Haley (Zac), Dustin (Mary Catherine), Joel (Alex), Heather (Brandon), Caleb, Nathan, Bryar, and Erin, great-great grandchildren: Noah, Brooklyn, Emmitt, Audrey, Boone, and Harper Kate.

Pallbearers will be great-grandsons.
