Zula Mae Britt, 93, passed away Monday, October 10, 2011 at Brittany Homes in Marietta, GA where she was a resident. She was born January 10, 1918 to Perry Sledge and Hattie McGregory Sledge of Toccopola, Mississippi. A loving wife, mother, and homemaker, she was involved in her daughters’ school activities through the years. Zula and her husband, T.L. Britt, joined Central Baptist Church upon moving to Decatur in the early 1940’s where they remained active members their whole lives. Family and faith was her life. She died as she lived, trusting in God.
A graveside service will be held at Roselawn Cemetery on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Rob E. Jackson officiating.
Survivors include: Daughters Judy Britt of Marietta, GA and Nancy Britt of Decatur, AL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Leander Britt, Jr., her parents, her siblings, Viola Sledge, Albert Sledge, Mossie Bost and Nola Bevill Pickens.
Memorials may be sent to Central Baptist Church Building Fund.
