I was lucky enough to have known Jim since he was my neighbor for the last 8 years in Montclair. Whether he was giving me fishing advice or helping me fix my car, he was full knowledge and always willing to help out. Jim was truly a great man and he will be missed. Our condolences to the Berntsen family.

I am very sorry for your loss.  My father, Herb Facas was also a pressman and worked with your father.  When my father died in September, 2010, your father came to pay his respects.  Unfortunately, my mother and I were unable to pay respect to your father but we want to let you know again how sorry we are for your loss.

Condolences to the Berntsen family.  I did not know him, but it sounds like he was a decent and good man.

I have known James' late father Jim, brother Kris, and his very delightful Mom Ellie for a long time on the island.

Mr. Berntsen was always a kind, gentle person to myself and the other friends back in Central Islip. My condolences to the whole family.

Jim was always a good and gentle man.  My heart is with his family, especially our three children; Kenny, Eric and Claudine, in this very difficult time.

May he rest in peace.

As we travel along lifes bumpy road you may be lucky to know someone like Jim. From the times we spent on Spring & Hudson to the days on Amour Ave., Jim was possessed with the desire for perfection. With his unparalleled skill and dedication, he inspired and motivated everyone who knew him. His talent and friendship will be missed by all. May he find the peace he surely deserves
