Dear Lucille and Family, 

I was so sorry to hear or rather read that Mike passed away. We go back a long way - high school, college pals, my career at Deer Park; Michael hired me back in the sixties.
Please accept "Z"s and my sympathy. We were at our summer place in New Hampshire so we were not aware  what happened. It took us a while to figure out how to get in touch with you.

To the LaPlaca Family,
I got to know your husband and dad through my father, Bill.  They grew up together in Astoria and remained friends for many years until my father's passing.  At family picnic's and weddings when I would see your dad we would always talk about two of his favorite things, golf and the Yankees.  Your dad was so easy to talk to and a genuinely nice man.  I will miss him. 

Please take comfort in the fact that he is at a better place in the presence of our Lord.

May God grant you comfort, I am so sorry to hear of Daddy L's passing.  I have so many great memories, but the all time favorite was water skiing in Great South Bay - God Bless Mr. LaPlaca taking 4 teenage girls waterskiing (or anywhere for that matter!).  He would yell "Are you ready Freddie" and we would have to yell back "Let it Happen Captain"!  Many times we fell, once in a while we actually stood up and skiied!  Mr. LaPlacs's eyes would twinkle in the sun, we knew he was having as much fun as we were.
Rest in Peace Mr. LaPlaca, you will always hold a place in my heart.   With all of our love and admiration,  Chris and Jeff Wilson

To the LaPlaca Family,
Mr LaPlaca was my teacher from 1961 to 1965. When I graduated college and began to teach in Deer Park, he became my friend. Then I was lucky enough to have his daughter Barbara in my class and enjoyed getting to know Michelle and her wonderful spirit! In all those years Mr. LaPlaca was a kind, respected and loved man not only by me, but all the lucky people whose lives he touched. He will be truly missed.

We were saddened to hear of Mike's passing.  We remember vividly our time living across the street and time spent on the golf course where he taught Ed how to play the game.  And those blue eyes......

The best father a girl could ask for.  I will miss seeing you Dad, and giving you hugs and kisses and chocolate shakes.  Rest in peace my dear Dad, I loved with all my heart and soul and so did many others!!
