I recall our difficult childhood. Especially when you tied me and Julie when you played cowboys and Indians. I don’t recall how we were rescued but happy we were. May you rest in peace.

I say hello to Abe every morning when I pat the little dachsie he bought for me which I keep on my bedroom fireplace. He was a good man with a very big heart.  All my love, Jane

Abe was always joking with me that he was going to take me away from my husband.  When I was sick he would call me almost every day and sent me a stuffed dachsie, dachsie shirts, and even dachsie magnet for our frig.  He was a great friend who would listen and who had compassion as well as wit.
He should have been around a lot longer but he hated being on diets. Abe you left us too soon.  I will miss those forever phone calls and surprises from you.  Love Jane

Sometimes a year went by without seeing Abe.  We live in Ormond Beach and always saw Abe with our very close friends in Tamarac ; he was like family to them.  Abe loved our 2 dachshunds and would send toys, magnetic wall stickers and even a shirt with of course a big Dachsie photo.  The stuffed Dachsie with a big bow sits on our electric fireplace in our bedroom and every morning when I open our master bedroom door I pet the little doggie and say " Hi Abe'. He scolded my husband and me for not keeping the doggie nails short enough and said we were very bad doggy parents - We think of him every time we cut their nails. Abe had a big heart but he never took care of himself.  Rest in peace my friend Abe

Although we saw Abe maybe twice a year - sometimes less he always called to check on me, my husband and our doggies. Several times he sent gifts of dachsie doggies including a fur dachsie we keep on our dresser.  He had a great big heart and always took it from me when I would ask how his diet is going,  He told me once in a while he was on a diet but he just never took my advice.  He was a very special man with a lot of love in his heart.  I am glad he had a trip with his grandchildren recently to Disney Word with his ex wife who took over when his daughter in law passed suddenly.
Abe had it rough but he never let his sorrow show, Just about 10 years to the day he lost his beloved wife Shelly and always blamed himself.  Hope Abe  you are having  fun in heaven. Hod Bless You Love Jane

 I’m so sorry to hear this very sad news. I recall playing with Abe when we were children growing up in Brooklyn. He was quite an interesting playmate especially when we played cowboys and Indians and he would tie me up and not tell anyone. He had a magnetic personality with adventurous stories he would readily share. I wish you and the family solace during this very difficult time. Baruch Dayan Emet!

Jason, I’ve been thinking about Abe since you called last night. He had many flaws, like all of us do, but at his core he was a good man who always meant well and clearly wanted the best for me. He was a very giving person and it showed through all the time. I know that his heart was always in the right place even if I sometimes didn’t agree with many of his actions. His ways and style did not always sit well with everyone, me included, but I was able to see through all of his bluster, especially as I got older and could make sense of why he treated me in the way that he did. It became apparent to me that the way he handled me was guided and driven with one purposeful goal in mind ,which was always to try and make me a better person.  When he barked out Hey Marky in that distinctive voice you just new that it could only be Abe. When  I heard that extremely loud Yuki dog whistle I would always cringe with sheer embarrassment  😊. When he had me working in the candy store i knew that his purpose was to try and have me become more social and confident when dealing with others.  What I needed most in life especially during my early unhappy childhood years was to have a calm, stable and happy family life  and that’s ultimately what Abe was able to help to create for all of us. In my mind that clearly was the best thing Abe ever gave me. Having that  normalcy and stability throughout my preteen and my  teenage years, especially after such a turbulent early childhood was everything to me. Therefore , i’m eternally grateful to Abe for everything he did.  I am just thinking now of how the way I gently tease Emily can certainly be traced back to the way that Abe teased me all the time.  I know that I am not the greatest with keeping up relationships so please share my thoughts with others in the family.
