Halligan, John F. “Jack”, 85, of Coconut Creek, FL, and formerly of Port Reading, NJ and Jersey City, NJ, passed away on January 26 with his family at his side. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Ruth (Maher) Halligan; 4 devoted children and their spouses: Kevin & Kathy Halligan of Hazlet, NJ, Dennis & Shirley Halligan of Austin, TX, Cathy O’Donnell & Rick Donas of Plantation, FL, and Jacqueline & Russell Biffis of Deerfield Beach, FL; one brother, Robert Halligan of Hasbrouck Height, NJ; and 4 treasured grandchildren, Carina, Brooke, John, and Sean. Jack was a graduate of Dickinson High School and St. Peter’s College, both in Jersey City, NJ. He also served in the Armed Forces during the Korean War. After leaving the Armed Forces, Jack was employed by the Continental Can Co. of Passaic, NJ and New York, NY for over 30 years. Jack will be truly missed by family and friends.
A Wake will be held at Kraeer Becker Funeral Home on Friday 1/29 from 5-8pm and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, N Lauderdale, FL on Saturday 1/30 at 10am.
