I'm sorry to hear about Marie. My mom and dad were her neighbors in Florida (they bought the condo from Lou and Marie). She was such a great  neighbor to my parents while they lived there.  My daughter, Ava, and I would visit once a year, and when she heard we were coming, she'd make Pizzelles for us. She even inspired me to get my own Pizzelle press!  When I visited for the first time and Ava was a baby, she ran into her house and came out with a dollar bill and I want to say she kissed it, and said it was good luck!
Such a kind person! 


There were five words that I read at the funeral home and they started me thinking of how will we all remember Marie: 
Live – love – learn – laugh – legacy

Mommy lived a life filled with family, friends and her parish. And from what I understand, over the last few weeks, she told everyone she had a blessed life, and that she was tired.

Her love for her family was the most important thing in her life.  She showed us how important family is, and taught us all how to be there for each other, No matter what! To anyone that knew her, you became her family. Whether it was Marie, Mom, or Grandma, all embraced her smile, and positive attitude.

Her love for God was strong, and her passion for volunteering was as strong. It began when her second grandchild entered Saint Ambrose School, 25 years ago. She would volunteer for anything and everything that was needed from school events, to Carnival and ultimately becoming the longest running and oldest Bingo volunteer ever.  When her adoptive daughters would tell her that she was All of their Mom’s, her heart would burst with joy! (You all know who you are!)

When dad died, she thought her life was over, for the first time in almost 55 years she was without her constant companion and partner. However, she found a new energy at her second favorite place the Northeast Focal Point, which is now known as the Center for Active Aging (thanks Marie). 

For those of you who knew her from Focal Point, you knew how important her Tai Chi was, she swore that is what kept her going all these years. When she was at the senior center, she even coordinated crocheted blankets and hats for the newborns, patients undergoing chemotherapy and the Veterans in surrounding hospitals. 

As a transplant from New York she took to Deerfield Beach like a fish in water, literally. Not many of you knew that since 1984 each morning my mom would start her day swimming in the ocean. It was only when she realized that sharks were in the ocean with her, is when 

Oh my dearest Sam. I will always remember and cherish all the times at your home and your dinner table. So many of us thought of you as another mom.  And your mother as another grandma. Will always remember the blue velvet dress  she made for me. Wish I had it still.  In my thoughts I am giving you the biggest hug and big juicy kiss and all my love.

Such a great lady .lots of beautiful memories .she will  be missed by all those who knew her and loved her . All my love and sympathy to all her family......
