Michael Santoro

Michael was born in Vieste, Foggia, Italy, the son of Angela (Papagni) and Pietro Santoro. He was one of three sons and four daughters who reside throughout the world.

He was married to Giovannina (Solitro) for 62 years. Together, they raised four children, Angela of Spencer, MA (husband, Kenneth Mantha), Joanne Santoro of Deerfield Beach, FL, the late Laura Santoro Merulla, and the late Michael P. Santoro; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren with another on the way,and serveral nieces and nephews.

While in Italy, he gave service to his country by serving his mandatory year in the Army in the Special Corps division. He also served five years as a State Policeman stationed in the city of Savona.

Michael immigrated to Worcester, MA in 1955 and retired from the City of Worcester Water and Sewer Dept. In 1986, he and his wife moved to Deerfield Beach, FL to spend their retirement enjoying the beach and warmth of FL.

He was always serious but loved to make others laugh. He was an honest, hardworking individual who loved working outdoors in the yard and riding his bike in the neighborhood. He would never hesitate to help anyone in need.

Funeral Service will be Monday, September 14 at 1:00pm at Kraeer-Becker Funeral Home, Deerfield Beach, FL. Burial will follow at Deerfield Beach Memorial Cemetery.

You were so loved and will be sorely missed.
