To mom, all of my brothers, sisters, and nieces and nephews  — our sincere and deepest condolences, love, and prayers to all of you during this time. We share your pain and sadness as we say so long to Dad, but we rejoice as he joins the Lord in heaven on this day. 
I will always cherish the lessons and values that he instilled in me from since I was a small boy, when I had no one there to guide me. Though Samuel is my uncle he will always be my father. Dad always encouraged me and advised me throughout my entire life and I’m grateful for all of my achievements because of him. 
I will always cherish the love, and memories, and wonderful times growing up with him being by my side to guide me, whether near or far.  
Dad, may you Rest In Peace with the Lord. Thank you Mom and Dad for always being there for me.  I love you always.

My  sincere condolences to mamie Una and all my cousins. There are so many memories of you spending time with us ,whenever you visit Guyana. You were always the one to emphasize the importance of education and not to waste time. The last time i saw you,when we both visited guyana, your words were" i am happy to see  what you become and the things you are doing, your parents would  have been  proud of you".  Coming from you it meant alot. Today i say to my cousins and mamie, take strength from his memories, continues to be good to each other, there is no greater bond than that of family. Sincere condolences to the family on the passing of Mr. Samuel Dookhan from the Trotmans of Canal No. I.   May his soul rest in peace.

It is with sadness we heard about our dear uncle’s passing. He was the beacon to his own family and he took up the mantle to be the kind patriarch to the all the Dookhan’s, Ramdyal’s and Bhagwandin’s. I am sure there are others, and multitude of these, whom he advised, taught, mentored and assisted. I remembered spending August (Summer) holidays in Canal and was always left in the care of Uncle Sam and Auntie Una. They were firm but loving and I always looked forward to my time with them.
He lived a life of reverence. He lived a long and happy life.
Uncle Sam enjoy your rest. To my Aunt and cousins stay strong. 

In loving memory of my dear cha cha Sam who was always a wonderful person to me. I am sad to know that he has departed his earthly life. What is consoling is that on that bright and glorious day  he would be resurrected to be with  the Lord. 
  I am sending my deepest sympathy to chachee and all my beloved cousins. May God give all of you added strength during this difficult time. Love you all !

I remember in my conversations with Samuel he always had wisdom packed in his words. He would tell me about his time Guyana, emphasize how important work ethic is, taking care of yourself by eating right and getting enough sleep, Doing the right thing, and you could clearly see he's a man of God. I would ask him about life tips and he always had great feedback which I appreciated.

He has left an extraordinary legacy for generations to come. I have met much of the family and everyone I've met are such good people and I can see where it stems from. I know God is watching over him and he has a special place in Heaven now. 

Everyone in the family is in our prayers.

My memories of the elders in the Dookhan , Ramdial, Bhagwandin and Samaroo family are numerous and pleasant. I was always close to all the elders. Even in difficult times Uncle Sam and Uncle Simon were the older ones who advised and counsel me. It was Uncle Sam who told me to migrate to the USA. I spoke to him and Aunt Una all the time. My last conversation with both of them was 4 weeks ago. I told him I was visiting Orlando and he is too far away for me to visit him. He always invited me to Staten Island. In hindsight, I should have made the effort to see him in Florida but he understood that the distance to drive was far. I have many sweet memories of the elders that will live on with me. I am blessed to have know the elders in the family and I never felt a stranger in their company. May God grant Uncle Sam and those deceased elders eternal rest and peace. Aunt Una May God grant you grace to cope at this difficult and stressful time. Rest assure I will still be in contact with you. RIP Uncle Sam and rest in the bosom of Abraham.
