Wayne was born on November 26, 1940 in Texas to Melvin and Agnes (Wornat) Reue. He graduated from Wharton High School in 1958 and from Texas A&M University in 1962. After college, he entered the United States Air Force (USAF) and trained as a pilot. In 1964, he married Gloria Wittig, and they eventually settled in South Florida in 1974.
He enjoyed a thirty-year career as a commercial pilot and frequently said that he was double-lucky to have had a career in aviation and to also work with some of the most interesting people on the planet. He was an avid golfer, crossword aficionado, home improvement enthusiast, and he watched Jeopardy daily. He was known to be funny by many with a unique and dry humor.
Wayne is survived by his wife Gloria (Wittig) Reue, son Carter Reue and wife Kathryn, daughter Lesley Gadomski and husband Brendan, four grandchildren: Ellana & Orion Reue and Grant & Giselle Gadomski, and his sister Merle (Reue) Hudgins of Wharton, Texas.
A private burial will be held in Wharton, Texas.
