Anna Lowe and her twin sister, Annette, were born December 20, 1930 in Tucson, Arizona to George Thomas and Ruth Wilson. She was the middle child of 3 girls. She was raised in the Oklahoma City area attending Taft and Jackson Junior High. She passed away on April 6, 2026, after suffering a stroke.
She was very independent and active all of her life, raising 5 children and caring for numerous grandchildren. She loved being around people and during her life participated in a bowling league, sold Faye Swafford purses and accessories, and served as a docent or guide at the Goodall Mansion during the Oklahoma State Fair for several years until the exhibit closed. However, her favorite thing was selling Avon, which she did from 1981 until shortly before her death. She was in the President’s Club and won numerous Avon dolls and trips to Hawaii. She enjoyed travel, IF a cruise was involved or a restaurant was the destination – especially if she could stop by the casino on the way there! She spent many hours sitting on her front porch watching the cardinals, blue jays, and hummingbirds while feeding bread to the squirrels, sometimes by hand. She enjoyed watching basketball and baseball, especially the Little League World Championships, and was really good at telling the Tennis Judges when they got a call wrong. She was able to name all the famous players and definitely had her favorites – and if you didn’t like the same ones, you were WRONG! She also loved to watch Bud race and couldn’t pass a thrift store without buying a hummingbird, little pitcher, owl, snowman, or something else she thought one of the girls might enjoy collecting – Not to mention adding to her own collections of frogs, salt and pepper shakers, purses, or anything CHRISTMAS.
In her passing, she was surrounded by a host of loved ones. She walked into the arms of her husband of 67 years, Lowe, who had been waiting almost 10 years and her youngest son, Earnest. She will be missed by many; there will always be an empty spot in our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Wilson, her mother Ruth and stepfather ‘Pap’ Ivy Villines, sisters Annette Wilson, Teresa Berry, and Helen Wilson, husband James Lowe, youngest son Earnest ‘Buba’, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by Beverly and Bob McBride of Galveston, TX; Linda Brown of Choctaw; Paula and Jerry Stout of Houston, TX; and Bud and Thelma Lowe of Oklahoma City, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Her celebration of life will be held in the chapel at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home at Sunny Lane Cemetery on May 18, 2026 at 10:00 AM. The address is 4000 SE 29th St., Del City, OK 73115.
