Barbara Erline McPherson

Barbara Erline McPherson left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on March 4, 2014. Born October 19, 1939 in Wattensaw, Arkansas to Finis and Pauline Highfill. Barbara is survived by her husband of 40 years, Johnny McPherson; daughter Cheryl Gring; step-daughter Glenda Heard; grandson Jonathan Hyatt; granddaughter Jessie Trimm; and sister Charlotte Jetton. Much love to Betty Pequano and Mary Green whose sistership gave Barbara strength, peace, and much laughter. Preceded in death by both parents; daughter Charlene Chavez; step-daughter Sheryl Kline; and sister Juanita Shirley, she also loved, and was loved by, her daughter from a different mother Barbara Jane Lynn, and many other relatives who have helped out in so many ways. Barbara retired from the government and devoted much time to Sunnylane Southern Baptist Church in Del City, where she had many friends who will miss her dearly. Her passions were many, but included crocheting, knitting, gardening, and reading a good book daily. She never missed doing the daily crossword puzzle and was one of the best cooks you could hope for. Her laughter and kindness will be missed by many, and she will never be forgotten in our hearts. Special thanks to Hospice Quality Care for the compassion, care, and dignity they provided her as she fought her courageous cancer battle. Visitation will be Thursday, March 6, 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunny Lane Funeral Home. Services will be at Sunny lane Southern Baptist Church in Del City, Friday, March 7, 2:00 PM, with burial to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
